Capt. John Tilden's Companie, Searle's Buccaneers (1668) The purpose of Drake's Men / Capt. John Tilden's Companie, Prince Rupert's Regiment of Foote (member, Sealed Knot) / Searle's Buccaneers is the accurate portrayal of an English military camp from the late 16 th-century through the late 17 th-century. We fulfill this purpose with fully researched and documented period military drill and domestic camp life. This includes authentic colors, a trained drummer, as well as period cooking and singing. Since 1991, our members have participated in re-enactments throughout the United States and acquired accurate garb, flags, weapons, armor, kitchenware, pottery and games. We hope our portrayal helps the viewing public to a greater understanding of military life in the Age of Discovery.
